HIPERMED present at CELTIC PLUS EVENT in Mónaco

i2CAT as a member of the project HIPERMED, will participate in this year 's CELTIC PLUS event 2014. Attendance at the event was motivated by several results obtained in the present project. The main purpose is that i2CAT will lead demonstrations in two different scenarios proposed by HIPERMED.

The Internet of makers

Can the Internet be a fabrication technology? In 2001 i2cat was invited to participate in a project called the Media House, leaded by Metapolis, a group of young Catalan architects. For the first time, professionals coming from the architecture wanted to include Internet in the design of a new kind of habitat. The motto of the project was, “the house is the computer, the structure is the network”.

i2cat’s success in the new R+D European Funding

Following the goal of being leaders in the field of European R & D and carrying out projects in line with the European Union guidelines, i2CAT has successfully submitted a total of 28 proposals in the new Horizon 2020 program, in areas such as “Smart Networks and novel Internet Architectures”,” Smart optical and wireless network technologies”, “Advanced Cloud Infrastructures and Services”, “Self management of health and disease: citizen engagement and mHealth”, among others.
