Agreement between i2CAT and EPSON for the MOVERIO Competence Center

i2CAT officially presented on 19 November at the Smart City Expo, the cooperation agreement with EPSON Ibérica for the implementation of the Competence Center for MOVERIO, its smart glasses. It was a presentation that showed the new technology and features and current applications of this glasses, generating a lot of excitement among the many visitors to the i2CAT booth.

Visionair Project: UltraGrid and i2CAT

As a continuation of ongoing collaboration, researchers from CESNET and Sitola in cooperation with researchers from i2CAT foundation are evaluating integration of their respective projects – UltraGrid and liveMediaStreamer. The integration effort should lead to creation of multiple-party streaming solution utilizing both pieces of software. To support the effort, collaboration was supported by a Visionair project.

i2CAT works in connected and hybrid television

The December 6 began in the town of Gurb (Barcelona) the testing pilot of the European project TV-RING, led by the i2CAT Foundation. For the pilot, the Foundation has enjoyed the collaboration of TV3 and the company Abertis Telecom. Households participating in the project received a next-generation television that allowed access to services and content created by TV3, especially for this test, which will be used for evaluation.

Which country do we wish for 2015?

Last November 2014, in the Smart City Expo, Mr. Jordi Puigneró, General Director of Telecommunications and Information Society and i2CAT’s President, announced publicly for the first time after many years, a digital strategy for Catalonia. It's called SmartCAT.
