ULTRAORBISM a distributed event

Ultraorbism is a project directed by Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca, based on True Histories by Lucian of Samosata. It is part of the European project SPECIFI and the research area RICHES funded by the European Commission. Support is from the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, the i2CAT Foundation, and live participation by actors and the audience at the University of Falmouth, Cornwall (Great Britain).

The distributed performance Ultraorbism was a success of assistance and experimentation

El pasado 9 de abril, ingenieros de telecomunicaciones de la Unidad Audiovisual de i2CAT y creativos dentro de las artes escénicas de renombre internacional como son Marcel·lí Antúnez y un grupo de actores y bailarines de la Universidad de Falmouth, presentaron su última creación, una performance interactiva y distribuida entre dos escenarios remotos, el centro Arts Santa Mònica de Barcelona y un estudio dentro del campus de la Universidad del Reino unido. Esta acción trans-nacional, que ha generado gran expectación, ha sido realizada en el marco del proyecto Europeo SPECIFI y organizada por la Dirección General de Creación y Empresas Culturales de la Generalitat de Catalunya y la Fundación i2CAT.

i2CAT’s results at the Mobile World Congress

The i2CAT Foundation was present once again at the Mobile World Congress, held last March in Barcelona, which is an ideal stage to make known the entity, to introduce the latest news and networking. This year, the balance of the Foundation participation has been particularly positive, not only for the successful demonstrations of its specific innovations, but also by the agreements reached as a result of the visitors.

Success at the European Call H2020

The European Commission has recently published the approved projects that will receive EU funds for its implementation within the topic of the new generation of mobile networks (5G), one of the issues, which is considered strategic for Europe. Of the total of 83 projects submitted for this call, only 16 were approved.

Smart Regions and Mega-Regions: A global perspective
