Ends the CCMA Hackathon

The first edition of the CCMA Hackathon dedicated to the development of interactive projects, was held for 24 hours without interruption, the 2nd and 3rd of May at Arts Santa Monica in Barcelona. The marathon was organized by the Department of Digital Media CCMA, the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia during the 4C Digital conference. The event has the support of the Sónar+D and the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia, in collaboration with Samsung, Abertis Telecom, Civolution, Tuitele MediaData TV and the TV- RING project .

The CCMA has awarded the team MultiVee with the prize for the best project by a content recommendation system based on the proximity detection of the user to a TV screen. It has also been awarded Screenwalkers and Wheelteam with two special prizes for the best projects based around Smart TV and HbbTV, respectively. The winning teams will present their projects to the space Sónar+D during the Sónar Festival 2014 on 12 June at 16.00h.

It is also relevant that the best team -based project environment HbbTV, Screenwalkers, presented an application that provides an enriched version of broadcasted sports events synchronizing it with additional content created through mobile phones. Basically, the phone is constantly recording images of the user while watching the event, and when there is any highlight, images capture are shared to the television screens of their friends showing their reactions.

In addition to the winning award (a set of HD HbbTV set-top-boxes granted by Abertis Telecom) will also have the opportunity to test their proposal with real users in the framework of the international project: TV-RING (a project co-funded by the EC and the CIP PSP program), coordinated i2CAT.
