Grants of 6.250 euros for developing augmented reality apps and video mapping

In line with the practical seminar which will be held from 3rd to the 7th of February focused on creating augmented reality applications for tourism and cultural heritage within the framework of the I AM project, the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya fosters the creation of applications, allocating over € 25,000 in grants for developers.

In the framework of the European project I AM–International Augmented Med that fosters cultural tourism in the Mediterranean region, it has been published a competitive call for grants for SMEs, developers, creators and students interested in developing augmented reality apps (AR) and video mapping technologies. There are three types of grants:

a) Projects for augmented reality applications designed for mobile devices to present features of the cultural heritage of the city of Girona. (2 grants of 6.250 euros)
b) Projects for video mapping to be projected on the Casa Pastors building (Palau de Justícia), in the city of Girona. (2 grants of 6.250 euros)
c) Projects to develop and contribute to the European I AM project. (1 grant of 1.200 euros per month,up to a maximum of ten months)

The objective of these grants are to complement the activities that will be held during the workshop (3rd to 7th February, Barcelona), where there will be a special focus on the key points for developing AR apps for the sector. This is how it is expected to foster the use of these technologies and demonstrate the potential benefits for the tourism and cultural industry.
