i2CAT, technological provider in the AtlantisCare WIDER Project

i2CAT Foundation, as a knowledge center specialized in bringing new technologies to the different application areas of society, participates as a technology provider in the WIDER AtlantisCare project.

The main goal of this project is to provide a mobile system support to dependents and their environment. This system allows tracing the activity of dependent people, offering a number of features designed to enhance their autonomy.

ATLANTISCARE is part of the European WIDER project (www.wider-project.eu), in which six European regions over the Mediterranean area participate together. This initiative has been financed by the European Commission through the MED program.

WIDER has focused on starting changes and challenges posed by ageing population. Among other activities in Catalonia, 7 Catalan SMEs have been granted to develop pilot projects in the economic niche of eco-smart housing for the elderly and to propose innovative solutions for the promotion of active and healthy aging at home, adapting homes for the elderly, making them smart and sustainable.

Between 20 February and 2 March 2015 in the garden of the Palau Robert* (Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona 107) will be a free exhibition open to the public, which will show the results in Catalonia of WIDER. The exhibition has information about WIDER and about 7 pilot projects developed by Catalan companies. We recommend you take this opportunity if you want to know more about the AtlantisCare project.
