Telefonica I+D EETAC Conference

Tuesday 19th of November, from 11:30 to 13:00 will take place the event that UPC-EETAC organized: a conference performed by Nuria Oliver, Scientific Director of Telefonica I+D in Barcelona. The topic will be "The revolution of the mobile phones: small devices with great impact".

PhD.Oliver studied Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Science at the ETSIT in the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and did his PhD at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. From 2000 to 2007 she was a researcher at Microsoft in Redmond, WA. In 2007 she returned to Spain to create and manage the Multimedia Scientific Team of Telefonica Barcelona. Since 2009, she has been Scientific Director of R&D.

This event is part of the 18th Science Week, supported by the City Council of Castelldefels and aims mainly at secondary schools. The objective of this activity is to bring college classrooms in secondary schools and disseminate science and technology among young people.
