i2CAT celebrates its 10th Anniversary

On Thursday, November 6 will take place at the Palau de la Generalitat of Catalonia, the official ceremony of the 10th Anniversary of i2CAT, an event that will feature numerous actors in the history of the Foundation and renowned personalities related to international R+D in Internet.

Chaired Mr. Felip Puig, Minister for Buseiness and Labour, the event will count on the participation of Mr. Antoni Castellpa, Secretary of Research and Universities, and Mr. Jordi Albinyà, former Secretary of Telecommunications and Information Society and first president of the I2CAT’s board, who will talk about the history of the Foundation since its beginnings; and Mr. Jordi Puigneró, Director of Telecommunications and Information Society and current president of the board, as well as Mr. Fernando Orejas, Vice President of the UPC, will contribute to the future perspectives of the organization and the Internet in Catalonia.

Some of the most important personalities in the field of Internet R+D worldwide also wanted to make an appearance at this event, congratulating the Foundation and explaining his vision on where Internet has to go. Using different video projections, we will enjoy the presence of Vint Cerf, Google's vice president; Ken Morse, former director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center; and Mario Campolargo, director "Net Futures" DG CONNECT of the European Commission.
